If I were running an HCM or WFM selection with Dayforce or Tanda on the shortlist, I'd now add ownership and portfolio strategy to the due diligence assessment.
Thoma Bravo completed its US$12.3 billion acquisition of Dayforce in February. In September it announced an investment in Tanda, and the Australian merger filing now describes the transaction as a proposed acquisition that is under assessment.
There's nothing public saying either product roadmap, pricing or support model will change.
But if the transaction proceeds, Thoma Bravo will have interests in two products with overlapping coverage across WFM, payroll and HR.
That's enough for me to ask both vendors where each product fits in the future roadmap. What is expected to stay separate? Has anything changed in the roadmap or investment assumptions being presented to customers?
These are platforms organisations expect to keep for years. I'd rather have those answers documented during selection than try to interpret the ownership strategy after contract.
