If you are signing a SuccessFactors contract now for a go-live in 2027, there is a question worth asking before the SOW closes.
SAP is putting a cap on how much other systems can ask of SuccessFactors in a given minute. That means anything outside it that sends or pulls data: payroll, the system that creates and disables user accounts, rostering, reporting, background screening, job boards.
Organisations already live are only being told when they are running close to the cap. Any system set up from 1 January 2027 has it enforced from day one, and anything over the limit is refused.
Two caps apply at the same time. Each type of connection has its own, and recruiting is most restricted. There is also a cap across the whole system that everything shares, so the payroll extract, the overnight account feed and the rostering sync are not counted separately. They compete for the same allowance.
None of this stops the connections working. It changes how they are built and how long they take to run.
I would ask the System Integrator whether the design has been sized against the caps that apply on your go-live date, and who pays for the rework if it has not. That question costs very little, if addressed now.
